Accessible beaches in Sardinia for disabled people
Sardinia is heaven for beaches. The water is crystal clear, the sand is white, the nature is untouched. But there's a limit due to the fact that these places are uncontaminated: some beaches are not easily accessible. You need to walk several minutes to reach some of them, or sail by boat to reach others.
This fact does not have to discourage disabled people to visit our beautiful land though, because there are plenty of beaches fitted for any form of disability.
The best accessible beaches
Cagliari beach, i.e., has totally accessible bathouses, full of services like parking, easy access to the solarium and to the sea, dressing rooms, showers and toilets. You can also book a bus service (Progetto Sole) to reach directly the beach from home. You can find more info on the website www.ctmcagliari.it.
In the north, near Sassari, there is a place called “Casa Vacanze per Disabili”, that has a dozen beds, three bathrooms, kitchen, laundry, living room and has all the services for disabled people, like hoist, shower chairs and a lot more.
